To ensure our clients stay ahead of the curve, we are now integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) monitoring as part of our Central Securities Depository Risk Assessment and Sub-custodian Assessment reports.

Our initial findings uncover surprises about ESG across Asia, the Americas, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East.

What's inside?

  • What the relevant ESG regulations are in the EU, the UK, the US and China
  • Our methodology for measuring and monitoring ESG risks among counterparties such as central securities depositories (CSDs), custodian banks, and cash correspondents
  • Our initial findings, based on responses provided in 2023 by 109 CSDs, 242 subcustodians and 46 cash correspondent banks around the world

Who should read the report?

Apart from those with an interest in the performance of counterparties and third parties, our analysis can be used by clients and investors to benchmark their counterparties in the market against other providers and/or on a global basis.

The findings will be helpful to anyone who wants an international overview of the adoption of ESG principles and their success (or otherwise) by region.
